About Us
The Colonsay & Oronsay Community Fund (COCF) was set up in 2017 to support projects that benefit the community of Colonsay and Oronsay, and receives an annual gift from MOWI. A full description of the principles and operation of the fund adopted by the community of Colonsay and Oronsay can be found here.
The Colonsay Community Council (CCC) holds the money of the fund in trust and works alongside the Fund Administrator to administer the COCF on behalf of the community.

To be eligible for a grant, a project must benefit the community of Colonsay and Oronsay. You will find details of how to apply here. A Mission Statement and Ethos of the fund have been created in consultation with the community, to illustrate what constitutes, ‘community benefit’ from our collective perspective. You can have a look at this here.
A Panel made up of residents of Colonsay and Oronsay considers the merit of applications for funding and makes recommendations to the CCC and MOWI as to which projects to fund. For more information see the Panel and Panellists page.

A brief history covering the establishment of the fund has been written by Kevin Byrne, Community Councillor and former Panel Chair, and can be found here.
You may also like to see where funding has been given in the past, so we've attached a spread sheet exhibiting all funding given to date. It might help you come up with ideas for your own projects or even help you come up with a project for someone else to have a go at!
