How to Apply
The Fund has been available since 2017, and is the result of an annual donation from Marine Harvest (now called MOWI). The original annual donation was £10,000 which has since been increased to £14,000.
This money is available to organisations and community members of Colonsay or Oronsay. Small grants can be fast tracked with little paperwork, while larger amounts require more detailed information from the applicant(s).
For example, larger organisations must enclose a copy of the most recent audited or approved accounts, any contractor's estimates, a copy of the organisation's constitution and any planning or other consents which have been obtained.

The main criteria are that proposed projects will make a difference – financially, or for the well-being to a Colonsay or Oronsay community member which will increase the resilience, sustainability and well-being of the community as a whole. Please also bear in mind that applications will not normally be accepted in respect of projects on which work has already started, or in aid of expenditure towards which applicants have already made a commitment or paid.
The money can go toward any need that the applicant requires help to fund. At the end of the project a project, applicants are asked to fill in a simple form or to take part in a video to say how the project went.
There are three routes to receiving support from the Fund:
1) a simplified route for applications under £1000
2) a Hardship fund of £280
3) applications for funds up to £10000
