Hello and welcome to the Community Fund Website!
There have been some changes since the Summer and we are excited for you to leaf through the website to learn a bit more about the Fund and how it functions.
More than that, we'd love you to get involved! There are multiple ways to do this, all covered in detail and easily accessible on the website. Physical Handbooks and flyers about the fund will soon follow, but in brief, here are the best ways to get involved.
You could have a project!
The bread and butter of the fund, we need projects so that we can make use of all the money MOWI is giving us. If you have any ideas that you've always thought would be a great help to the island, but would cost too much to consider undertaking without support, this is your chance to make it a reality! Rack your brains and you might come up with something that will benefit the community for years to come.
You might make an excellent Buddy!
If you haven't got any projects that you're excited to bring forward, but you still want to make a difference and get involved, being a Buddy could be just the thing. Applicants with projects might have come up with a fantastic idea and have all the enthusiasm in the world, but may lack experience with the type of project they are trying to accomplish. A Buddy can bring their own specialisms to bear, supporting the applicant to achieve the best project possible.
You may fancy being on the panel!
We need panellists to assess the projects before giving them the green-light. We want the Fund to be inclusive and representative of Colonsay and Oronsay, so we'd love for all corners of the community to come forward and make their voices heard. This is a chance to use all your experience of island life, of the community's needs and desires, to propel projects forward that will make a positive impact for everyone.
If you want to get involved in any way at all, please do get in touch with the new Fund Administrator William Young, at the email address: william.young@colonsayandoronsaycommunityfund.com
